Katelyn Smith
I started my real estate career in 2016 in Seattle, one of the most competitive markets in the country, where I eventually founded my own brokerage. In 2024, I brought that brokerage home to Portland to work alongside my mom and sister, and it's the best professional decision I've ever made. Kindred Realty is women-owned, family-run, and built on the belief that buying or selling a home should feel like working with people who are genuinely in your corner.
I have a deep passion for houses, the kind that used to have me drooling over HGTV before I got to actually do this for a living. As your agent, I'll work hard to get you into a home you love or sell your current one for top dollar. I'm assertive when the situation calls for it, but I'm not here to push you into anything. I'm here to help you understand every step of the process and feel confident the whole way through.
A little about me: I speak Japanese (I lived there for a year and a half), love singing, reading, and playing games with my family. I also love throwing themed parties and watching movies. I'm mildly funny and I enjoy laughing. Reach out anytime — I'd love to help.
Melissa Wettlaufer
After years in education, I made the leap into real estate to join forces with my sister and mom, and I’ve loved every minute of it! I’ve always been passionate about helping people navigate important life moments, and that passion naturally led me to real estate. Now I have the joy of working alongside family, building something meaningful together while serving clients across the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
When I’m not helping clients find their perfect home, you’ll likely find me exploring the PNW; whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or somewhere in between. I’m especially drawn to the charm of old homes, have a passion for interior design, and truly value the relationships I build with each of my clients.
I work as the staging design expert for our brokerage. We provide staging as part of our listing package and it’s one of my favorite things to do!

Lauren Daniels
I come to the Kindred Realty Group with a background in education and community psychology. I have been an active member of the Bellevue and Bothell area for 10 years, and am excited to be turning that community focus toward real estate.
Prior to real estate, I worked at Seattle Children’s Hospital for six years as an autism and developmental disability specialist. I am also a professional photographer specializing in portrait, family, and real estate photography. I love client-based opportunities, meeting new people, and making connections. I recognize and appreciate the level of trust that friends and clients place in me and I hope to give back even more.
